Well, it's definitely been a while....Here's one a wrote whilst on a Poetry School course (more on that later). But until then, enjoy this!

no more fish and chip Fridays
no more Sundays in bed
no more slaphappy Saturdays
leaving us sore in the head
we used to be drunk on love
soused on each other’s allure
but the haze that used to blind us
blinkers our vision no more

no more salsas in the kitchen
no lamplight serenades
no more just-go-for-it moments
or sick-note holidays
the glee of feeling fancy-free
no longer swells our cores
and so this Catherine wheel of highs
will spit out sparks no more

no more adventures down alleyways
no more strolls through the quays
no more spontaneous food fights
by the tills at Sainsbury’s
the cold cups of coffee post midnight
the goodnight kisses at the door
the I-love-you cries yelled down our street
will wake the neighbours no more
